What We Do

The SADC Secretariat is undergoing a programme of transformation, and the change and knowledge management project is a core component of this. The project supports the Secretariat to identify process, culture and knowledge issues that hamper effective and efficient services, and design and implement solutions to address these.

The project is driven and owned by the Secretariat, and we encourage all staff to be actively involved: raise issues, share experiences, offer suggestions and participate in project engagements – we need YOUR voice to make real change.

Getting Involved

True transformation relies on staff engagement, so we want to offer as many opportunities as possible for all staff to contribute. We will hold regular drop-in sessions (virtual and in person) to report on progress and discuss issues, various capacity building events, and other forums for staff to share knowledge and experience. You can also always get in touch directly with the Consultants or your Champion to ask questions and share ideas.  If you would rather provide anonymous feedback please use this form.  We are also happy to meet with you individually or your team to discuss your particular needs and challenges.

12 Nov – 7 Dec 2021 - Situational Analysis Interviews: One on one interviews across Directorates, posts and grades to identify broad thematic areas affecting Secretariat operations and service delivery.

8 Dec 2021 14:00 - Change Champion Induction: Building the change team and agreeing modes for working

January - February 2022 - Assessment Validation: workshop reviews of assessment findings.


Drop-in Sessions

The  Project Team will hold regular sessions to discuss issues, answer questions and seek staff input.  These sessions are voluntary, but a great chance to join the Team for an informal dicussion and find out more about what is going on and have your voice heard.  You can join the session for as little or as long as you want.  To join either drop by the location listed or clink on the 'online' link.

Who We Are

The project is delivered by a core consultancy team (David Chiveso and Tanya Karlebach) who report to the Task Manager (Andreas Mwoombola) on a day-to-day basis.  This core team is supported by a Techincal Working Group and Change Champions, all of whom are guided by the Steering Committee.

The entire project team, from the Executive to the Change Champions, are committed to working in an open, collaborative, and positive manner.  We value honest feedback, active participation and believe in an equality of opinions.
